Are you looking for a last-minute Valentine’s Day gift idea or a unique way to celebrate? Consider spreading the love by giving back to our Atlanta community! Here are some thoughtful ideas to make an impact that’ll last much longer than a dozen roses and leave your heart full.

Donate in your Valentine’s name.

Did you know the average American spent nearly $200 on Valentine’s Day gifts last year? That amount could cover move-in essentials for a family transitioning from homelessness, MARTA transportation for an individual for two months, or a heating bill for a housing-insecure senior. Your gift in any amount spreads HOPE by supporting neighbors struggling with homelessness, and we think your sweetheart will find your honorary gift extra meaningful.

When you make your honorary gift to HOPE Atlanta here, your loved one will instantly receive an e-card alerting them, and you can even customize your message and design. Click here to get started.

Make it a volunteer date.

Scientific research has proven that people who give back are perceived to be more attractive. Really! Why not flaunt that giving spirit by making a date to volunteer together? HOPE Atlanta’s Women’s Community Kitchen serves from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and volunteers make it all possible. Not only is volunteering a unique idea for a day date. It’s perfect for individuals, groups, businesses, or families who want to make a difference.

Shop in a more meaningful way.

Prefer to “volunteer” on your own time? We’re always looking for supplies to aid our outreach, housing, and hunger relief teams. There’s a range of kits needed, from move-in and hygiene supplies for families transitioning out of homelessness to meal packs for the food-insecure. Feel free to include a personalized Valentine’s Day message to show your support for people experiencing or transitioning from homelessness.

You can find a list of supplies needed and drop-off instructions by clicking here, or have your contribution shipped directly to our office by shopping our Amazon Wish List.

Whether you donate, volunteer, shop for someone less fortunate, or spread awareness, showing our community some love this Valentine’s Day is a beautiful way to celebrate. Thanks for your support and for being at the “heart” of HOPE Atlanta’s mission.
